Resource ‘$(string.L_DisableOfficeAddinsAutoInstall’ referenced in attribute displayName could not be found.

Trying to find information about this error online brings up no results, so I’m writing this here so others may find it when they come across the same.

The latest version of Office ADMXs available for download today are dated June 18th 2022 (UTC +10):

After installing these and then trying to edit a user policy in Group Policy, I received the following error:

Resource ‘$(string.L_DisableOfficeAddinsAutoInstall’ referenced in attribute displayName could not be found.

File C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions\office16.admx, line 17982, column 284

Checking the ADMX file, the referenced line:

Searching for this string in the corresponding office16.adml file confirms that there is no definition by the name of “L_DisableOfficeAddinsAutoInstall”. Microsoft have forgotten to include this string definition in the ADML file. All language ADML’s are affected.
